Alex Preston was born in 1979. He lives in London with his wife and two children. His first novel, This Bleeding City, was published by Faber and Faber in March 2010 in the UK, and across twelve further territories. It won the Spear’s and Edinburgh Festival first book prizes. Alex is a regular panelist on the BBC Review Show and writes book reviews for the Observer and the New Statesman, as well as a monthly column for Epsilon Magazine in Greece. He studied English under Tom Paulin at Hertford College, Oxford, and is currently completing his PhD on Violence in the Modern Novel at UCL. His second novel, The Revelations, is out now.
